Human Rights define how we should treat others and should expect to be treated ourselves. In the UK, the Human Rights Act ensures that our rights are upheld and promoted, and is underpinned by the FREIDA principles of; Fairness, Respect, Equality, Identity, Dignity and Autonomy. These films were funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and produced collaboratively by Liverpool SURF (Service User Reference Forum), University of Liverpool, Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, Liverpool John Moores University and Hatch. They highlight the Human Rights issues that people living with dementia can encounter on a day to day basis. These films are intended to help people living with dementia protect and promote their fundamental human rights, and raise awareness of this important aspect of care.
